Default Harsh but fair?

I was telling people at work on our internal bikers newsgroup that I am the recent proud owner of a SV650S. Someone had this to say in response … (I am male BTW.)

Quote:
You of all people, I did not expect to buy one of those. They are extremely popular with the female bikers because they are "sweet little motorbikes" ....as the lady owner quotes .. Next stop a 600 bandit? Pink with ladybirds on the tank perhaps!!.. How are the linen curtains coming on?
I didn’t take the bait and just jokingly inferred that he had small genitals if he felt he NEEDED anything more than a 650!! But is this a fair comment , are SV650s seen by the general populous as girls bikes?? ?

Yes!!!!!
If a girl rides it it's a girls bike, if a blokes rides it it's a blokes bike.

So if I see women on a 999 does that make those girls bikes?

this argument is right up there with the "chicken strips" post

yep, plenty of people have told me my bike is a girls bike. not sure what their point is really. i've ridden with two girls on SV's who were a damn sight quicker than me, i dont have an ego that fragile i can't accept they ride/rode quicker than me!

of course i've not ridden since, and i've flogged the bike and subsequently bought a triumph rocket 111
