Default Bike holidays - where are you going this year?

Just been reading the bike travel supplement and got all inspired. Is anyone here planning any long trips abroad this year? I think I might do something short into Europe, maybe a week, but I like the idea of going somewhere and shipping the bike back. Last year's juant to Le Mans was way too short...

Fallback is Austria/Slovenia again. I absolutely loved the south of Austria and Slovenia and would like some better weather luck.
I have a friend getting married in Sweden so was thinking about going to or back via the long route, i.e. Finland, Russia, Baltic states and back.
I am tempted by Morrocco but have been there before without the bike. I like desert places but most are too far (sometimes I wish I hadnt bought bike and did more fly rides...both are not financially compatible ).
I may also have to visit the US a few times, in which case may persuade GF that we could travel by bike for our hols while out there, but bike hire is v v expensive there.

But whatever I am riding abroad somewhere this year

You will love it. Although I liked Germany much more than France, and I hated Italy although the Dolomites were lovely. Perhaps if the weather had favoured Italy more I would feel differently.

Austria to Sovenia can entail the Grossglockner. Unmissable although an expensive toll. After that you are in this bit of wonderland between the Alps and the Julian Alps*. So lovely.

* well sort of, its hard to described the geography.

If somone offered me a job there tomorrow I would be gone like a shot.

Planning on doing a bit of North Carolina (Including "the dragon") next year. Hire a Harley, 2 up with my girlie. It'll be pricey, but I've been saving for ages for it.
