Very clever - But I've just got one of those 'curly-whirly' cables that remind me I have my disk lock fitted

Wasn't there a some article here a few months ago about these locks?

yeah, there was an article. I have to admit that the vid is a good demonstration of its use. No more prating about in the limited seat space to find the lock, no more danger of riding off with it fitted.

I have my lock bag tie wrapped to the frame, so no carrying problem. It is fitted when I leave the bike so no chance of theft from the bag. and I have never tried to ride off with it fitted.

Would that be what some people call an "idiot wire?"

I (sadly) have to admit to have done exactly this with my old CG125. very embarassing.

Any idea where you can buy these things / price. And what's the curly 'idiot' wire you speak of? I just really really don't want to do this on my shiny SV...

The idiot wire is a cable that connects to the lock when it is in place on the disc and is then clipped on to the bars of the bike at the other end.It is normally like a coiled telephone receiver wire in a highly visible colour. The theory being if it is there on your bars ,you are more likely to spot it and remove the lock before riding off.
