I've got some new Akito Superpole two piece leathers which are vented. I want to start using them and get out of the textiles but they are freezing compared to my old Scott leather jacket which seems to have shrunk, especially around the belly. What can you recommend to use under the leathers to deflect the chill? I've seen a wind deflector jacket by BMW which is designed for this purpose but it was about £80. Can't afford that because tyres are on the horizon. What do you use?
Thanks Ratty

Try a Windstopper long sleve shirt, surprisingly thin yet effective. Like this sort of thing: http://www.getgeared.co.uk/acatalog/...se_Layers.html

If you wear more than one layer of long sleeved t-shirts (except the windstoppers stuff which is really thin) it can get uncomfortable if the wrist zips are fairly tight.
I took the removable lining out of my textile jacket and wore it over the top of my leathers, works a treat.

if you are really skint newspaper sheets, maybe 2 or 3 work very well, tabloids fit best.
my dad used to ride years ago and it was a cheap way of wintering up your gear. And he didn't used to be a tramp before anyone has a pop! ![]() |
