Default Loudest Legal exhaust.

Im starting my commute to london from kent in a couple of weeks. As previosly explained in one of my posts, I needed to know where to get a Hi Vis Jacket and a decent double bubble screen.

Now ive got a different question.

What is the loudest road legal exhaust? Im after a full system, but I dont want to be pulled for the ol' bill for a non-legal can and them fine me. Although the main reason im after a loud exhasut is becuase i want the cars to notice me up in London, I dont think they will see that as a good enough excuse!

Which manufacturer do you recommend? Is it better to just get a non-legal one and just hope for the best?

80db is the loudest a can can be whilst being legal. These removable baffle type cans get around this by having, yes you have guessed it, a removeable baffle.

London plod are pretty good with regards cans. I have been commuting into london for 5 years now with no worries about my cans. Kent plod are or seem to be, a little less understanding.

Scorpion are pretty loud and most come with "Legal" baffle. Mine is awsome, and cars do notice you which is good as I commute to London every day!

Also good for scaring pedestrians at lights......

You have other which are loud:

Viper
Belwoef (sp)
Art
Remus

Most will come with baffle! (Which are of course easily removable!!)

Good luck!

The loudest legal can will most likley be the Quill T3.

It will pass all MOT & police inspections as its completley legal.

But when the exhaust presure rises with engine load there is a little valve in the can that opens up to become a race can and it starts to get noisy. Basicly revs under 4-5k and the can will be quiet, over that noisy.

I had a full system on my SV and it is handy in London traffic, doesn't appear to wake people up every time however.

My system was seriously loud as people on here will verify ( it often set off car alarms etc etc) and I didn't get stopped by the police. Indeed, one time a police van backed up so that I could continue filtering through traffic.

My system was a Hindle system, same as on Thor's bike too. The only thing I heard that was louder was a TL1000 with twin Yoshi's on it.

Kate's can was very loud because it needed repacking!

I'd look at some of the twin port removable baffle cans. Our hindle ones are loud, but not road legal, and you can't baffles for them either.

If you want noise, then remember to take the snorkel out too, or replace with a SV1000 snorkel.

Agreed.. Its the only one like this, all the rest are just race cans with baffles
