Have you got standard pegs or something like gilles?

You cant move the peg forwards or backwards on standard rearsets only on ones like gilles. The lever can be moved up and down by adjusting the shift rod, unlock the nuts at both ends and rotate the rod until you are happy with the ajustment then tighen the nuts up again.

I modified my shifter, had a metal fabrication shop cut it in half, add length and weld it back together

Default gear lever.....

been away for a while so sorry on replying late. don't realy want to cut the lever yet so will try adjusting the bolts. if it is adjusted will it affect the clutch or anything. i'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to mechanics but i give it a try anyway
