Default Front sprocket scotoiller conversion

I remember someone doing a little guide on how to convert the scotoiller to running on the front sprocket but i cant find where it, anyone remember where it is.

There's not really much of a conversion involved if you do want to do it... It mounts up in much the same way as the rear, just that there's not such a handy place to put the delivery tube. But Scottoiler do say it gives much worse coverage on teh front, as well as being more vulnerable to blocking.

It works just fine, uses minimal amounts of oil because it all goes straight onto the chain, doesn't get blown about being out in the slipstream. This particular arrangement only works with an aftermarket front sprocket because the std Suzy ones have a damper ring on the sides. You could probably put it directly after the chain leaves the sprocket with a std item.

I used some bundy tube and some black tubing onto it, the stock Scottoiler clear tube and black capillary go down the inside, the bundy directs it onto the side of the front sprocket.

A friend did a slightly simpler version using some small bore copper pipe (as used by model steam enthusiasts!), but still used th eblack capillary to control the flow. Both work perfectly.
