Yep, indeed. The rearset from a GSX-R fits the SV. You can put the set of the GSX-R 1000 from 2001 till 2004 on the SV. You just needs a few components. If you change it, and you use new stuff, you pay about 100 to 150 €.
But the question is if you have benefits by changing them. All right; they look more racy; but that is all. But, enjoy and let me know if there is some progress. ![]() |

ah, you asked about rearsets, not standard hangers.
Rearsets are always aftermarket items that you use as an alternative to the standard footrest gear. They typically bring the footrests to the rear and up, hence the name. The footrest hangers from a gsxr1000 (k1-3 is all I have experience of) will fit, but need some work to do so. On the right, a bracket needs to be fabricated to hold the rear master cylinder clear of the frame. On the left, a longer shift rod is needed. Neither the SV one or the GSXR one is quite long enough. The GSXR one is close enough that you can get used to it, though. As for aftermarket items. The gilles rearsets for GSXR can be persuaded to fit, but you need to change a few components. I'm still trying to get the proper parts list for the SV ones and the GSXR ones. When/if I do, then I will obviously post here. |

What is involved when fitting rearsets is it just a case of swaping them over or is there more to it than that? been looking at these

They're not difficult to swap over at all.
Those rearsets retain the standard brake light switch, so you don't need a pressure switch. As a personal request, if anybody has a part numbers list for the point SV gilles rearsets, can you please send it to me. |
