Default number plate mod- smaller one... and cut the snow shovel..

oooo

yes its true

I bought a smaller plate as I didnt like the massive one I had...

pondered about the "undertray" and snow shovel and prospect of cutting it.

It wasnt too nice weather today so I was peed from not getting up the cat n fiddle..(will do tomoz- and pics !!) so i just thought sod it- and went for it.. with planning of course..!!

so heres the pics and some info.. nb- the pointing on the wall. is not my work !... inherited and needs raking out and re doing .!(and i aint got me jet wash out for spring clean of the flags yet- so no comments!?

all my plates- new one on the right (hee hee) ..
NB- cant be bothered to cover my plate up.... so yea I know my reg is on show.

OK quick before and after so you can see if you want to read on...

BEFORE>>>
>>> JUST STANDARD- BIG FAT NUMBER PLATE BIG FAT SNOW SHOVEL.

BIT OF PLANNING- BIT OF CUTTING LOT OF MEASURE TWICE CUT ONCE AND >>>>>>

I say what a very neat job sir!

Was the Stanley knife left available in case you screwed the whole job up?

more pics

I knowabout my square tyres- I know about my chicken strips thank you- and I know my bike is not as clean as normal.. but my fatehr in law been ibn hospital so it has had to not be cleaned every 5 mins... !!

OK... so basically -

just simply cut down the old big snow shovel with a fine plastic blade on a jigsaw...it cuts really neat and just needs tidying up with a stanley knofe after to remove some burrs....

marked it out the shape I wanted with a marker pen (which came off with wd40 easy after)

then just offered up the new plate and placed it so that the holes would be on the yellow section and not hide the lettering..... this meannt drilling a couple more holes just slightly lower in the now smaller snow shovel...!!

of course i drilled small pilot holes and then drilled again with a larger drill after...

packed out between mudguard and the plate with a double piece of that non slip webbing- just to absorb any shocks.. and a couple of washers on the back and bobs yer number plate !..

retains the reflector and the number plate light... same indicators- etc etc - just a smaller plate- migt not be everyones bag.. but I think it looks ok..

remains to be seen if my back now gets covered in muck !!.....

top cuts near to the indicators had to use a junior hacksaw with nice new blade in nd it cut very very easy,...

it is daunting hacking in to it... but it cuts nice n simple and clean..

MARKED OUT WITH PEN THE CUTS AFTER OFFERING UP THE NEW PLATE TO IT ABOUT 40 TIMES TO CHECK

JUST FINISHED OFF WITH HACKSAW..AND STANLEY KNIFE.. PAIRING IT DOWN SLOWLY..

AND ALL DONE >>

ALL IN ALL ABOUT 30 MINS WORK.. INCLUDING GETTIN ME TOOLS OUT AND PUTTIN THEM AWAY AND CHASING NEXT DOOES CHICKEN FER 5 MINUTES !..
IAM ABOUT 90% HAPPY WITH IT... just changed the lines a bit and I not sure if it flows..! but hey I can always get an undertray..

I dont liek the **** end anyway- I relaly do liek an undertray and small plate with plate hangar and small cators.. but hey ... !! that will have to wait

appreciate any comments- good or bad..
