Default help!! a scooter question.

ok so its nothing to do with sv's but my dad brought a yamaha cygnus x 125 brand new when the 06 plate came out from CMC motorcycles in cannock, the trouble is the speedo is correct ive follow'ed him up to 65mph and its **** on but when i went a ride out with him his milage counter is reading + 50% we did a 40 mile ride the other day and his counter had clocked up 60 miles?
first i thought kph but thats not + 50% is it? and the speedo is correct
CMC is a big company and doesnt sell imports,

any idea's

daz.

It could still be measuring the distance in km; that sounds within the margin of error.
Is it possible that they've changed the label on the speedo dial but not done anything to sort the odo?

possibly, or maybe its like the k3 + sv's that can be switched over, maybe the odo needs switching to mph?

iirc 40mph = 60 kmh so a fourty mile ride = 60k ride i think

1 mile = 1.6 km so 40 miles = 64 km, well within the margin of error I would expect.

Surely if it's switchable and the Speedo is reading in miles then the Odo should automatically be doing the same .

kwak zzr , is the speedo mechanical driven or electronic . Either way you can check to see if there is a converter attached to either the cable or wires.

Cheers
Ben

21quest its mechanical, just a cable and normal odo meter(not digital).
but am i right in saying if its an imported model he should have been told about this?

Oh ..... 1km=0.625miles

So 60 km = 37.5. miles

Therefore if his Odo is reading 60? and he only did 40 miles then it is safe something is not quite right. Innit
