Oil.. Any ideas?????
Hi Just bought my K3 bike with 5100 miles and am intending changing the oil and filter. I know this has probably been asked in the past, but here goes again. What is the best oil to buy for my bike, semi or full synthetic and which type?
Any suggestions |

Just go semi synth. Look at Hein Gericke. They do a package deal on oil, filter etc.

Just about any of the modern semi's will do, 10/40, you can pay a little more for motorbike branded stuff if it makes you feel better, but the most important thing is to regularly change it, I tend to do one filter change to two oil changes and have never had a problem, but even that's only a few £, so it's up to you.
Don't waste your money on fully synthetic stuff, it won't be of any benifit to the SV lump, over the semi. Cheers Mark.

If they don't do your air filter at HG make them give you a curvy one instead and sell it on.

I've bought the kit from them and they have given me an air filter for a completely different model of bike (my mates) so have a think about it before you go if you are going to buy from them...

I was just about to say don't get the Motrol stuff from Hein Gericke when you get the deal. See if you can get them to swap it for some shell stuff. As since I've put that oil in the gear box has started slipin and clunkin, then drops out of second. I'm changing the oil again at the end of the month and keepin whats left to lube my chain, probably use the Shell oils (was using Bell Ray which is great but the price has shot up) same as Jax's Duke.
