I just bought a replacement fiberglass fender and it was, so I was told, a direct replacement, now I didnt expect a perfect match as it wasn't a dealer part it was Highway Hawk, which isnt cheap rubbish but the holes didn't line up and the sides where touching the brake disk.
Is this normal for fiberglass parts to be so much out of shape? |

It can be... Then again, some fit perfectly. Highway Hawk's bits that I had on the Orrible Yam were perfect fit though.

My fibreglass replacement muddie did exactly the same. Just about scraped the disc but clobbered the disc buttons as soon as I spun the wheel. So that chipped the leading edge.
I got in touch with the guy who made it (not highway hawk BTW), he said it was a moulding problem that sometimes can happen if it's too taut. I got a full refund and he let me keep it too. I just pared off a little from the inner face. |
