Drove the Car Today, Oh My God.

I drove the car to work today for the first time in weeks because of the severe weather warning for Hampshire. (The Met got it wrong again). What frustration, why oh why do car drivers hog the outside lane and refuse to move over, it's so annoying. Sat in a 40 limit today doing 25 and there wasn't a single vehicle in the inside lane for about 3/4 of a mile as this was as far as I could see. Cars should be banned

'Cos that would be under-taking. Which I'm sure you are aware is only to be done when passing a vehicle that is turning right or, umm, something like that.

Was under the impression you could undertake if in traffic? Just because one lane was doing 25 doesn't mean it was not traffic

I was in the inside for most of the way, I then turn off right at a set of lights after about a mile and no bu&*er will let you move over. I ended up forcing my way in between two cars because they are so pig headed

Quite right. Just because one lane slows down doesnt mean you have to. Its not undertaking.

Oh, and for that very reason on my journey to work i pass on the inside of approx 80% of the cars i pass.

Yep A saddo Google search found this in the Highway Code

242: Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.
