I am thinking of getting some Poly26 fairing lowers. My dad has an air compressor, what I want to know is how hard will it be to spray the lowers using the compressor/gun? I have never done this kind of thing before so would it be too hard to do?
Also what processes do I need to go through and where is the best place to get the paint? The bike is a 2000 Candy Blue, (YC2 I think) Thanks |

It's quite hard
![]() The other thing is, spraying 2-pack paint without a fed air mask isn't very bright, it's nasty stuff. You can do it, I decided not to- but singlepack and cellulose laquers are comparatively soft, and not fully petrolproof either. On lowers, I'd bet it'll chip like a... potato? Paints4U are quite a good shop for paint and supplies, they're very helpful- but they don't do bike colours.

I wanted to repaint one side of my lowers in the same colour. A friend of mine is a professional sprayer and he was advised by EVERY paint shop he knows that this colour is a whole repaint only. Of course, if you have the time and skill you COULD get a perfect match by applying the right amount of paint, but being a candy its very very hard. So Im told anyway. Good luck with it.

Ah, good stuff- last time I spoke to them they said they didn't. Excellent shop, IMO, I was well impressed with them.

OK so a possible no go then on the DIY front?! I bought a colourmatched undertray and seat cowl and they are (as far as I can see) an exact match so hopefully it is possible by the pro's!
Thanks for the advice guys |
