Default click, click from front brakes

1999 unfaired sv650.
Had a constant click click noise when on the move. Traced it to front brake. Stripped out calipers and saw the fornt brake pads wer two different makes... hmmmm. LH ones had three slots in, RH ones had one slot.
Decided to replace pads with new, both sides.
Brakes now free and not binding
Now I dont get the click on the move unless I apply the brakes.
Any ideas why? I cant feel any pulsing through the lever so I dont think its a warped disc... brakes work great apart from clickety click.

Adam.

Could they be 4 clicks per turn?

It could be the floating disks are a tad loose on the rivets, when you brake the outer rotor moves a tad making it click.

Could well be, it definitely sounds like its more than twice per wheel revolution... Anything I can do about it? Doesnt seem to affect braking performance...

Err, then its not like my bike, it clicks once for each time you apply the brakes.

I had a clicking like that with my SV. Turns out my front brake disks were below minimum thickness for MOT. I ended up having new disks and pads.

Still getting this noise, its now happening on the move not just when I am braking but braking makes it louder.
I can wiggle my brake discs easily on their rivets which recreates the clicking noise. I went to look at two used curvy SV650s in a dealers and tried to wiggle the discs on them and I could hardly move them. Seems like I have too much play in my rivets.
I guess I have to replace the discs and the rivets all in one? This is a pity cos the discs them selves are not very worn.
Adam.

You may be able to get the rivets re-done, I know you can buy purely Rivet and braking surface kits for a lot less than full discs, but not sure what you need to fit them, fairly sure it's not just a "tap it wiv a hamma innit" job :P

On the stealth wavey discs, the friction surface was held on by rivets secured with circlips over a washer, give them a call, they do different colour rivets too

Where? I would love some for my disks.

I think rotational movement is ok, its sideways you dont want much. Not sure though. I know mine have movement but they are ok, but get annoying when riding over bumpy ground as it knocks and rattles.
