Default Cornering Class

So I'm back on my bike again after a crash and I'm finding myself nervous about going around tight corners.

It was a combination of inexperience, gravel and indecision that caused the crash in the first place and I'd like to go to a track for some kind of instructional day that teaches you (preferably not on my bike ) how to take corners properly at speed.

Anyone know of anything like that in the South East?

I can show you!

I was the same mate. It just takes time, experience and some confidence. I do know of a great instructor who could possibly help you out. He is based in Sandhurst, Berkshire. Let me know.

TBH it's really a case of having a safe environment to start throwing it about and finding my limits without having an 18 wheeler bearing down on me if I mess it up or worrying about scuffing up the fairings on my bike (even more )

If you want to improve quickly you could pay out for some extra tuition with an instructor - they can talk you through with intercom, or a cheaper option (would take alot longer) would be to join EAMG (Essex Avanced Motorcyle Group) you ride out with an observer regularly (no intercoms though) they debrief you throughout each rideout and gradually you learn and improve that way. Either way you learn how to read bends, how to position the bike etc, before you get in any bad habits.

I joined EAMG and was almost about to take my test when I had to stop riding . My riding improved so much I even managed to impress hubby!!

highly recommended is the new Hottrax academy training day. They cater for novices through to intermediate riders and later in the year advanced riders.

More info here:

Snetterton is near Norwich so sort of south east!.

If you can get Mike "spike" Edwards for the day then your sorted. An excellent coach who will help anyone from those who have just started riding through to international racers.

A few people we know have done this. One girl REALLY couldn't corner...............I mean it used to terrify us watching her................but after a day with those guys she was totally different, and very confident.

All those we've spoken to who've done it recommended it for newbies or anyone lacking confidence.
