Well, getting on top of my niggles now but one remains - I've had a sticky clutch for a while now and thought it was my worm drive but after a well overdue cleaning session (big shout out to Jim55 for that
![]() I tried firstly adjusting the worm drive end as per the Suzuki manual but didn't have any luck. We then adjusted it to the same settings as Jims but still get major drag. Tried adjusting the grub screw in worm drive back and forth but still couldn't get it to disengage. So that was us stumped ![]() Is this down to simple adjustment or something in the clutch needing sorted? |

1) remove clutch lever
2) replace rest of bike 3) fit clutch lever to new bike

Did you clean the rod that the worm drive pushes, IIRC it just comes out and can get clogged up with chain lube holding it out

Do you mean dragging as in when you pull the clutch in fully, it does not disengage the drive (i.e it still wants to move forwards). Mine does this ever so slightly when starting up and warming up, but once fully warmed up and sued, it's fine. I jsut topped it up with some different oil so reckon that's the problem so will give the thing a full oil change.

Instigator - yeah, it's still pulling quite strongly even when the clutch is in which is why I guess I've been having trouble changing gear.
Sid - thanks for the input. When you say the "lifter" do you mean the worm drive itself? Think I mentioned above, I opened the worm drive and it does have wear outwith the channels. |

If the lifter has wear - the 'worm' bit you're referring to - it'll never be right, bin it and get a new one, £25-£30~ish or so, as I remember.
You've got a chum with an SV haven't you? Try swapping the lifter first, if that improves the situation you'll be certain of where the problem lies.
