In my day you borrowed a mate's 250 and a bloke with a clipboard hid behind hedges 'observing' you whilst you drove round and round the block. At some point he jumped out into the road to see if you could stop the bike 'in a safe and controlled manner'. A few questions on road signs and then off down the dealers to mortgage your soul on a Z900 that went like hell but didn't do corners - I'm told it is a bit different these days.

The same for me but it was on 125 they had stopped the 250 by the time i took my test!!! Oh those where the days
