Default PC Speakers

I feel a bit of a dunce asking this, but I have acquired a Cambridge Soundlabs 4.1 speaker system and it doesnt seem to run on my card. Im gonna check them on another PC to make sure, but the card is a Genius 5.1 card which isnt great, but it does work with my stereo speakers perfectly. All drivers are up to date and the new speakers power up fine - just no sound. Any ideas??

Sorry that wasn't very helpful was it. I had one of the cabridge kits and I blew the Power supply!!! So the only real advise is try that. On another note, I think there is a volume control on the rear of the sub woofer, I'm sure you;ve check but I thought I'd mention it.

I can hear a small click when I power them up and the power light comes on so Im guessing the PSU is all OK. It has a remote volume control which Ive tried to no avail and the only other volume knob is on the back of the sub and just controls the bass level.

Ive configured the sound in control panel from stereo speakers to 5.1 but still nothing. Help!

are you connecting to an spdif output or something? Some cards need that specifically enabled.

No, just boggo standard jack plugs. Wondering if speakers are fooked possibly?

if they're standard jacks, test them on another sound source.

Tried them on my mates PC and still nothing. Reckon they must be fooked! Worth fixing or better off just dipping my hand in my pocket and buying a new set?
