Anyone on here have any experience/information about Hangliding or Paramotoring? Its something ive wanted to do for years. I live quite close to a hangliding club and might take a trip through there to see about a taster lesson however just wondered if any souls on the forum were into the sport

Well, I've two mates who have done paragliding. One is mad keen on it, says it is great but seems to be spend a lot of time waiting on the hill for wind of the right strength/direction. The other had his wing fold on him when he was about 30 foot up, hit the ground hard and is now in a wheelchair. That put me off having a go. I do fancy hangliding though, reckon thats a lot safer...

yeah they do say that paragliding is more dangerous as the wing can fold easily. I wonder how often it happens as someone advised me strongly to go hang gliding instead

You should give powerkiting (buggy or board) a go.
Its a great sport and full of friendly people. One thing I must stress though, if you do give it a go, be wary of the power of the wind. Try and go with an experienced flier and wear a lid. If anybody in the Heathrow area wants to give it a try just drop me a line and I am sure something can be arranged. |
