Default 2007 kills Suzuki Bandit and welcomes new GSR models

Typical. I order a K6 Bandit, and then I read this!

Oh well, in a few years I'll be ready to change with any luck.

Thats meant to be changing to.

From same site :

"...This effectively means the SV has to change or disappear from Suzuki's model range. It is believed that Suzuki not only will change the SV to comply with the new emission rules but also increase capacity from 650 to 700cc...."

I knew the Bandit was on its way out. Most of the bike mags reported that the GSR was taking its place in the line. Suzuki need to get a bigger capacity GSR out though if they dont want to lose sales.

Seems anything without fuel injection is on the way out.

Bandit is a pretty old design so not much left to do with it.

What to do with the SV? I think Suzuki need to get off the fence and think what the SV should be...a mini-racer or commuter.

In the new Bike mag, it shows that the new R6 has less torque than the SV! Now that is just staggering in my view.

Sure is, especially considering how quick an R6 is! IL4's make their max torque a lot later in the rev range too. The SV's is somewhere about 4-5000k rpm I think. My bike makes it's max torque at about 9K I think which makes for an interesting powerband as it is pretty docile upto about 7k and then it just takes off! I hope the new SV looks like those mockups. And an extra 50cc can only be a good thing!
