if the weathers ok count me in..iv lost faith in the sv now in anything but good weather ,the dreaded one cylinder thing .every time it rains i get the surging/misfiring and tbh im sick of it ,im not using the bike as much as i should because of it,pretty much time for a change im scunnered

Jim- silicon goop. I know what you mean about losing trust, but it's as close to a 100% fix as anything is. i've ridden mine across rivers and through foot deep floods since I did it
![]() I might be up for that... I'll be out with the HBOs bike club (!) next week doing the same route we did with the essex boys, so I might have to give it a miss though.

andy-im trying to find a link for a fenda extenda and some of that grease should make sure its sorted ,can i just go and get some or will i get in touch with you ps where does it go?smeared over the ht lead out side the cylinder and across the hole /rubber washer thing /seal(aye right) or somewhere else ,i dont want to put this grease everywhere and get this kinda reaction

Maplins sell one that's suitable, it's called Servisol Silicon Grease from memory, comes in a white tube with red logo and letters, like a small toothpaste tube. I don't know the part number though, can't find it on the website
![]() Basically, you pull the plug boot out of the cylinder head, then clean the seal and smear it with goop. I put a smear around the edge of the plug hole as well, probably don't need to but it can't hurt. Then squelch it in. I usually pout a wee bit more over the top, just for good measure, again probably not needed but it can't hurt. I think some people use thinner grease on the plug end, but I've never tried that, don't really know if it'd work.
