Scottoiler - What's wrong with this picture?

Far be it from me to question the professional mechanic who installed my Scottoiler, but isn't it rather a long way from the chain? Seems to me a drop of oil falling from that distance is as likely to end up on the road as anywhere useful

Since I could be wrong however, I thought I'd look stupid on here before I go back to the dealer and look stupid...

Nope, that's wrong that is.

See what happens when you let them so called mechanics do a job that you should have done yourself.

It should be touching the rear sprocket about 2mm above the chain at the bottom of the sprocket.

It's current postion is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

Yep, that's all wrong. Though it'd be fine if the sprocket was solid. It doesn't need to be all that close to the chain, since the oil goes onto the sprocket then gets flung onto the chain. But it does need to have some sprocket to drop it on.

How's it fitted? All you need to do is bend or move it till the nozzle's pointing at the sprocket , out near the chain. There should be instructions in the box for exact positioning, but I completely ignore them myself and just but the nozzle as close to the sprocket as I can, near the edge, and the other way round from how Scottoiler say, seems to work fine and it's less hassle to set up.

Mines not the most tidy of jobs but works and should look like this:

you can have it in that sort of position as long as it is dropping onto a part of the chain that it not on the sprocket - obviously not the case here

As said above, its wrong even the manual it ships with says that it needs to be touching the sprocket. Go back and complain I would

You know that would look a whole lot better if you run the delivery tube on the underside of the swing arm.
