it's OK if you're simply freshening up , but if it's a colour change you got your work cut out.

Yep, we also used once, plain old emulsion is easier to apply and you know that will take a few coats anyway. I think 'Once' refers to how many times you'll buy it!

If you are refering to the exterior once gloss I have found that a quick under coat is the answer. Just that it seems to take better on the undercoat rather than the cleaned/sanded old paint------------------Its not all that clever IMHO

There's really useful tips on the screwfix forums, the painters' forum all seem to strongly recommend Dulux Diamond paint, they reckon it's the dog's. Also if you want to cover difficult surfaces, Zinsser products are what they all use (primers, stain block etc)

Well after 2 (3 in places) coats of the stuff, this morning it still looked a bit patchy. I watered down what was left of the 'covers 35 metres squared in one coat' container, and rollered it over the main areas of my 8 metre square (less door and window) downstairs dunny. With the mirror, pictures and stuff back it should look ok, but its the last time I try and speed things along with one coat paint.

PMSL We did this on Thursday evening- agreed, Dulux once was a complete lie. However, 2 coats was ok for us.
