will a desnorkeled filter be a problem in the winter e.g. will the carbs freeze?

errrm mine haven't and my heaters are broken

Depends how fast you go and how heavy you are with the throttle. You'll suffer from "carb icing" whether it's de-snorked or not if you twist the throttle open sharpish, travel fairly quick and if you don't let thge engine warm thoroughly.

Paper filters- like OEM- are a wee bit better at taking moisture out of the air, but not drastically. I don't get bad icing with mine, put it that way. Though of course it's hard to really compare.
Remember you need the right conditions to get carb icing- not just cold, not just wet, but both and in the right quantities. A lot of people think it's fuel freezing or something, but it's really the moisture in the air- so no moisture, no carb icing. The colder it gets, the less it happens too, since that causes the moisture to precipitate.

Aye, should be fine then... I'd get an RS rather than desnorkel a K&N, but it'll still work well. Have you got a full system fitted?

ive got a de-baffled blue flame can. the only reason i got a k&n is that i picked up a stage 1&3 dynojet and the k&n filter on ebay for £34
