Default SV 650 Sport

Hi,

Picked up the new bike yesterday and it came with a box containing the seat & handrail. I tried pushing the bike into the garage & decided the handrail was going to be more useful on the bike than in the box so I popped it on this morning but have left the cowl on rather than the seat for now.

Question is what are the two 4" anodised brackets for & where do they fit? They dont appear to have anything to do with the seat itself. I've looked at some of the photos in the photo forum but can't see them on anyones bike.

Mike.

They are the protectors for the sides of the radiator. They have to come off when lowers are fitted.

They are the radiator side covers that come on a normal sv650s the dealer must have removed them to fit your fairing lowers and included them with your other parts.

hope you like your new bike

Default Thanks for identifiying them.

Thanks for identifiying the brackets, I'll just leave them in the box now I know they aren't needed.

The new bike is great - huge improvement over my CBR 125 but tbh that was a real hoot for the 4 months I had it.

Only managed 43 miles on it so far but hopefully it will need its first service by next Saturday - lol. Running it in for all those miles is going to take a lot of restraint. I test rode one at the dealers after Xmas that had 8000 miles on it, came back with a big grin on my face and said let's just talk money. Here we are a week later and a brand new blue one is sitting in my garage.

The only downside so far is that I could get my chain & lock under the seat in the CBR but the fuse box seems to take up most of the space in the SV... guess I'll be surfing for tailpacks & will be ordering one online later tonight.

Mike.

PS No pic of the bike yet - I'll sort one out in the week.
