Default Boundary 500, In aid of Great North Air Ambulance

Boundary 500 edit as linky didn'y work
Just wondering if anyone is wanting to take part in this event? It is to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance.

Im very tempted to do it as its for a good cause and should be an excellent days riding.

Camping is available for people from yonder

I'll definitely be in for that. My Mam lives in Darlington and I'm living in Carlisle which isn't too far from Whitehaven. And it's for a good cause. I might actually camp in Hurworth for the night on the beer.

9 hours 15 minutes according to Autoroute ANd that's following speed limits. If there's 2 days of good weather it should be great. I'm in two minds about taking a pillion. It makes the riding slower and more difficult but it's good for the social aspect.

From what I've read on the site it's unclear as to whether it's a one day blast or a 2 day ride. Either way I'm up for it. Two of the lads at work are very keen riders so I'll mention it to them. It should be interesting to see if 3 other mates have such vastly different bikes!

Its a one day ride. Thats why its considered a challenge.

Ill definitely do it. Ill ask my dad, as well as a couple of others. Might even camp at Hurworth if i can get the stuff dumped (Rather than having to take it on the trip) as its only 12 mile away from my house. Sounds like an excellent idea

Andy you defo doing it?

That's easily do-able in a day. If anyone (within reason) needs stuff leaving in Darlo my Ma lives there and (I imagine) will let people leave stuff there for the day. I was debating taking a pillion but as a 1 dayer it'll be better on my own.

Its very easily do-able especially when you consider a start time of 6.00am!

Would be done by mid aft just taking it relatively easy

Its one day ride. you can go at your own pace and i think they give you a card to get stamped at the 5 or so checkpoints around the route.

Rob - Yeah im 95% certain im doing it at the moment. im gonna see my boss for some sponsorship

I'm 100% in. The forum for the ride is a bit dead at the moment. I'm anticipating that it will get busier closer to the event. I've been working distances out. (I'm sad like that)

Out of interest and to gauge how much town riding will be necessary I've just found all the Morrisons postcodes and the start and finish points and put them into autoroute.

492.2 Miles for the quickest route.

At legal speeds it will take 9 hours and 21 minutes with no stops.

468.8 Miles for the shortest route.

At legal speeds it will take 11 hours and 15 minutes with no stops.

Saved routes Autoroute 2006

12-14 hours is the average time apparently. I'll be trying for just under 12 I think.
