When we know more details about it, I'll pass judgment as to if he's a hero or a villain.
Right now, all we know is that a 911 was stopped for doing 176mph, which, in my book, on a public road, is asking for it. If, for example, his wife was going into labour, the coppers need a slap for not escorting him (if they could go fast enough). However, right now, my money is on the side that he's a nutter. I mean, how many corners did he cut on that country road traveling at 176mph. Not that many country roads are straight for long. What about if a biker had been coming the other way when he cut a given corner? But still, we know nothing, so I'll wait until we do |

Nutter - he took the Porsche without permission, has now lost his job and is looking at a prison sentence and driving ban.

Yeah but with speedo inaccuracies and speed camera tolerances he might get away with it

Having thought about it some more... maybe he was testing the theory that if you can drive at 180mph you can travel backwards through time.
Oh, wait, that's not right (supposedly around 160-170mph you can outrun normal speed cameras though, just not lasers) |

I wonder if he'll try and get a job as a traffic cop
Even if his other half was giving birth, (she would have surely given birth to something at that speed anyway) its even worse I think. One thing to toast yourself, toasting others is just way out of order. |

On the face of it, he's a thief as well as a reckless driver, but who knows what lies beneath the story?

Bearing in mind he took it without permission the speed cameras are irrelevant as the owner would not have known who was driving and the A420 has some nice dual-carriageway straights. Stopped by a road block 4 miles further on,even at 120mph that is two minutes later At least he has got himself in the record books as the fastest JOYRIDER
