R1 Front End Question - SV650.org

I love this forum! Unfortunately, I'm having a little trouble with the search function.

Several weeks ago I was reading a thread here regarding front end conversions and I cannot now find that thread. The consensus was that the GSXR front end requires some changes to fit the SV frame. One respondent suggested that the R1 front end was a direct fit. Can this be confirmed? and if so, which year / generation R1?

The only change that is needed to the bike if you have a curvy bike is to change the top head bearing, if you have a pointy i beleave the GSXR front end will fit straight on without any modifications.
