Default Scrap Speed Cameras petition

Go on, you know you ought to: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/scrapcam. Perhaps not unsurprisingly, Tone's server is rather busy right now. :P

I think this has been thoroughly thrashed to death in several other threads.

This is a new one. The other one was bike-specific (about handheld cameras). This one should have a lot more signatures. I too got the "server busy" error earlier, but persevere, it accepts it in the end. The popularity of the server crashing due to volume of traffic signing the petition could make a good headline!

'Doing nothing about speed enforcement is not an option'...will be the reply by some muppet. Same as congestion charing, etc etc. They will still not stop people like i was following home on Sunday night. Out of his head...up the curb, almost took the traffic island out, braking for no reason... Cameras are a good idea if they are placed in these so called black spots, and i support them in that role. I dont agree with mobile speed traps. These i feel are unlawful and entrapment.

How are they entrapment? Entrapment would be if they encouraged you to speed then punished you for it- ie, plain clothes traffic cars racing you off the lights.
