Speedo not working

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find it in the listings. I have an sv650s 2002 model and the speedo kept working then stopping intermittently. Now it has just stopped totally. Can anyone point me in the right direction of what I should check and in which order.

The good news is that the official suzuki part is around £21 +VAT. The bad news is that if I'm wrong, it'll be more expensive

Good news is that you can get the rotor separately

34983-21E00 £14.49

Plus new seal

09286-44001 £5.21

Bad news if you don't fancy trying to dismantle the old one.

New Sensor 34990-21E00

Of course there are always some secondhand ones floating about, just make sure all the lugs on the rotor are there.

Elio, Elio, Elio, I keep telling you to get a new bike! speedos gone, engine cuts out, fender extendas left right and center.....Next you'll have to plug a puncture on the A12!!!!

Double check that your battery connections are tight first. Just had a similar problem with my speedo and the like with it working rather strangely. Battery connections were as loose as, well a rather loose thing.

Least it's costing you nothing to check.
