Hi everyone,
Just to introduce myself quickly... I'm Jason, based in Cambridge, just starting to learn to ride at the moment (CBT and theory in the next week, DAS hopefully in a few weeks). Was recommended to come over here by Ward8124 after being shown the SV650 as a possibility for a first bike (and being very impressed by it), so will be trying to pick a few brains over the next few weeks to decide if it's right for me. If anyone in the cambridge area wants to say hello, they're more than welcome to (and hopefully once riding, I'll be able to get involved in some ride-outs too and properly say hello to the rest of you). I've been informed that I'll be "buttered up" into buying the SV650 by the time you've all finished... not sure how afraid I should be on that one... ![]() Jason Last edited by SeismicRaptor; 02-03-07 at 08:58 PM. |

It's terrific fun learning to ride, it really is. Listen to your instructor and you'll do fine. SV's a cool bike

Hey Raptor
Only joined the forum this week so new around here myself. Only did my test last summer, started off with a Fazer and now moved onto an SV, think it is an ideal first bike. Being fairly tall its nice and small so easy to throw around. Handles great at low speeds in town traffic but has a nice amount of kick for when you want to go on a nice long ride. Another good thing is that (god forbid) we drop it then there isnt any nice pretty fairing to ruin and that the damage would be less severe, may be slightly pessimistic there but it happens to the best of riders, or so I have been told. All in all a great first bike and so far I have not had the slightest problem with mine Rich |
