Default rear brake lever problem(needs a clean)

I've notived a problem when using rear brake. After you press the brake lever down slightly it sticks and then you have to press down harder as it sticks , the footpeg twists aswell ...
i'm guessing that some salt / road crap has seized lever assembley , have tried some wd40 however has not fixed , any ideas

Exactly the same happended to me. It was due it's 4K service so got Dyrons to strip it down and re-grease! Been fine since (5K now) and I ride in all weather. WD didn't do the trick either!

I've got the same problem at the mo. Tried cleaning but no joy. When under hard braking the back sticks!

WD40 (entire can of - large one!). If that doesn't work, use a hammer.

If that doesn't work, find a bigger hammer. Repeat until solved.

(just one of those days - take the entire rearset off, disconnect the brake pedal, scrub with wire woll, WD40, then grease, then put it all back together)

Bikes due its 11k service ( its at 12500 now , so a bit late , its booked in on Friday)
Is the stripping down of the rear brake lever considered part of this service or is it extra ?

Cheers Steve

Depends on the dealer, but I would always specify a job like that anyway. Guessing 20 to 30 mins labour.

People like JHS know all the weak points and do them or at least check for them on the services, that's why their prices seem a little high sometimes.

Worth checkin out the gear lever too, as this jams, making you think you've broken the box, when it fails to return to the correct position.

Exact same thing with mine at 5000 miles, 9 months old, had to dismantle & grease, same as BILLY, looks like another Suzuki 'not fit for purpose' issue !

The Kwak does the same, salt and grit gets in, then it sticks, takes oh 30 minutes with a vice and alen keys to fix.

Emptied half a can of wd40 & its a lot better .

When you hold the peg still the lever is fine , however when you let go of the peg it turns slightly when you press brake lever down & then the lever binds .

As when you brake you have you foot on the peg , imagine it will be fine when riding .
I will mention it to Motorcycle Mart ( Kidderminster ) when its in for a service on Friday , they are normally very good & are on the ball.

Cheers Steve
