Are you a nodder, kicker, waver, peace er.... signer or other? Or not? Who do you do it to? Who does it to you?
I ask because I was out tonight having a lovely ride and I gave a fella the nod which he didn't reciprocate! T****r. He wasn't a courier neither! ![]() |

This again?
My actions depend on my mood. Most of the time I'll nod, sometimes sort of a salute, depends. As for who to, everyone on 2 wheels & all emergency & break down services. I love to see the faces of the ANPR guys when you nod or wave at them ![]() If they give the gesture back, fine, if they don't, I usually have a little giggle about them being a grumpy so & so, and carry on riding. |

A biker is a biker is a biker.
Even the kids on scooters without gloves, wearing tracksuits & their lids not fastened, get a nod or a wave. ANPR - Automatic Number Plate Recognition (a way to enforce road tax on vehicles etc). Some have speed cameras in them too, and generally mean a LOT of police presence on a section of road. Round these parts they're really hated! Richard Brunstrom (local cheif plod), by all acounts, spends his days off manning the ANPR vans. Back to the topic: Who's to say that a biker on a scooter (so long as they have all gear on), isn't only on that because their bike is off the road for some reason. Why emergency services? Well, at some point I'm going to meet the tarmac at considerable force, and they're the ones that are going to scrape me up & possibly put me in a bag. Recovery services? Well, I'm covered by 4 different recovery policies, so one of them will probably be out to me next time the bike breaks down! EDIT: I also have distinct signs for "police ahead" or "no police around" (which include a rough distance) & a "roadworks round the next bend" type thing. |

I nod at most bikes.
Don't usually nod at chav scoots but was nodded at by someone on a Gilera DNA thingy with L plates last week and found myself nodding back, I feel dirty and used. |

Nod to most bikers.
It has been a thing that has been done for years, bit like the Brotherhood (Bikers stick together sort of thing). If I see a biker at the side of the road broken down I will always stop & ask if he needs assistance. |

A nod is a must imo, We are in a minority group and we should all stick together, a nod is a simple acknowledgement of a shared love of two wheels.

Nod at everyone unless I am concentrating on a move/going quick/junction etc... .
The question is.... when a group of say 6 are on a ride out coming towards you do you nod at the lead, all of them or just the ones on SVs? |

Not in london, unless you know the person or its late night and you are having some fun with another bike.
