Default Windows Vista/Sound Card

Does anyone know of a cheap and cheerful sound card that works under Windows Vista? Online buying linky-thing would be helpful, too

I have an E-MU 0404 Sound Card but drivers are not yet available - I can't do without "choons" any longer

Probably most of the soundblasters will be Vista'd by now and there's some cheap ones...

I believe that your best bet is to go as cheap as possible.

Its only when there are fancy drivers (Creative Labs EAX type stuff) that there are problems.

Stuff based on AC97 chipset (nearly everything cheap) should be ok.

Buy from a shop so you can take it back if it doesnt work - and make sure you ask/get it in writing that it should work from the person you buy it from.

£10 should see you good

You guys do know they are still on "which mugs are going to buy this" release, you're not supposed to touch it yet, until the second edition at least, it is made by Microsoft remember

Cheers Mark.

I wouldn't touch Vista for at least 12 months... How many 'Hotfixes' are there for it already

True, but it's really nice to use

Got a Creative SB Audigy SE which said "Vista Ready" on the box........ still had to download the drivers and set the thing up, but I now have "choons" and am a happy bunny again
