Default Making an exhaust fit?

I got my self a Micron delta+ can of an R1 but the inlet size is 5mm bigger, the internal baffle is the same size as my race can so it doesn't fall down my link pipe, i've stubbyed it by 50mm because it was longer then i wanted and now it looks sweet

My question is could i pack out the inlet with a home made gasket of cardboard and tin foil? after all thats all the exhaust gaskets on the head are made from

The reason i got the can from an R1 is because the don't make the delta+ for 99-02 SV650s and micron pipe work.......why? i don't know

I used a bit of exhaust bandage when I was bodging on exhausts... Worked a charm. My mate Ben uses tinfoil, lots and lost of tinfoil, but then he also used silicon grease to try and unstick his brakes so take that as you will.

It may be a silly question but will fitting cans from other bikes mess with the fueling when put on an SV........

I packed mine out with leather when it was fitted to my XJR. The can was originally for an R6, so was a lot bigger. Doing on the cheap, buy yourself a pair of rigger gloves from the DIY store & cut them up with a stanley knife.

Well its fitted, there is a bit of a gap but i'll find something to fill it and use some exhaust jointing paste to seal it completly

Sounds better then the old race can (with out the baffle)
