high level rear end?

is it possible to get the sv rear end higher?
or is ther another rear end i can put on that will suit?
ive always prefferd the leant over look, feel and style of it, like a supersport 600 or superbike.

Only real way I can think of would be to either:

1) Get a different rear subframe. Compatability issues? How much of a pain in the rear (pardon the pun) to change subframes just for aesthetics?
2) Alter the angle of the swing arm to point it more down. Geometry affected, probably mainly by shortening the wheel base rather than lifting the tail. Also rider weight moved, therefore centre of gravity moved. How would this affect handling? Try it & write back, if you survive the trial...

Shorter dog bones - jack up the back by an inch
Hi level can or get zorztec or somebody to make an under seat
Tail/ tidy/undetray to get that clean look
Neater chain gaurd in ally/stainless
smaller no plate
Bin the passenger footpegs

very good point baph, might be a little tricky, not to mention dangerous. . .

John you also make a very good point mayby i should just tidy it up some, still after the underseat options for the cans that would look sweet.

What about simply modifying the existing sub frame? cut and weld of some kind?

Also I think you have a pointy? It's probably more the front than the back that's the problem, the pointy rear is quite high (on K3s at least!). but the front is also fairly high rather than pointing downwards...

You can put spacers in where the subframe fits the main frame I believe. Seem to remember someone doing this, socomm summert or other.

Believe it means you can't fit the side panels though.

I've just done this, dead easy and cheap on a curvy.

Unfortunately, i can't show you the look coz i've just upgraded to vista - or should that be downgraded - and my camera software isn't compatible yet. I'm working on that tho...


Anyway, back on topic. My reasons for it were threefold.
ZX shock/battery clearance.
Rear tyre clearance for my tail tidy.
Aggressive looks.

It also affects your balance on the bike, more weight over the bars. Something to consider - especially if you have clipons (you might get a bit crampt in there!!!)

I made two spacers out of 1/4" thick stainless bar for the bottom mounts. So you rotate the subframe at the top mounts near the tank. Bolt one end of your spacer to the bike frame and the subframe to the other end, jobs a good'un. If you want exact sizes get in touch. It has raised the pillion seat about 2" and rider seat about half that.

And yeah, the side panels don't look right, so i made up new ones in alloy.
