I would personally say no.

Lets face it, its a 125 and as such needs the tits revved off it to get to 100. The powerband is also tiny. For £700 i would expect it to be old and knackered. Assuming it is a 2-stroke it would need a ridiculous amount of maintenance and IMO you will continually be throwing good money after bad.

If its a 4-stroke, then its better reliability wise....but your way down on power!

I'd say save a bit more cash and get something with a real engine

What you need is to drop an RD350 engine in one - they already have 916 forks/front end (IIRC)

Yeeeeeeeeeee-haaaaaaaa!!!

OR....................just for track days, it may well be tons of fun.
Granted it will need a lot of 'love and care'. I used to have an Aprilia RS125
which I reckon would have been great fun on a track. It was fun, but crowded roads were not its natural habitat.
Also, as long as you want to concentrate on flicking it through the corners
and not be too disheartened when SS600s come whizzing past on the straights.

Or a Honda CR500 one (supposed to go in comparatively easily). Performance Bike are building one at the moment. They do look beautiful little bikes.

Or an old Honda CBR 600 (the steel framed ones), pretty cheap and seen a fair few on track.

The mito is like riding a razor blade, with a powerband just as thin.

£700 would get you an old CBR steely, thundercat or better yet look around for a zxr400, they are absolutely cracking track bikes!

Yup - here is my mates 1992 CBR600 - totally stock except for -1 tooth on the front and +2 teeth on the rear, Metzeler Rennsport tyres, Beet rearsets and race bodywork - its plenty quick enough to be in the intermediate group

Its been repainted now, but it was a £700 eBay bargain!

True these are very good choices, but i just want a 125cc TBH because if i bin it ( and i will believe me lol, ) its not a big deal, its cheap and basic to fix + im not really after speed, more track expierence . . . i will move on to the bigger CC next season.
i plan to absolutly run this machin into the ground

Dont be under the illusion that a 125 Mito will be cheap to fix. I had one last year. Thought I'd buy a cheap one and buy the bits from Mondo to fix it up and sell on.

I lost ££££s on it, the parts are pretty easy to get hold of, but no cheaper than a 400 or 600 IL4.

Trust me on track you want at least to be able to hold your own on the straights, which, unles you are gifted you will not do on a stroker 125. Also they nip up really easy leaving you wit a ruined day and top end rebuild.

A heavier bike will feel much more stable in any cornering as well. Riding a mito is similar to riding a mountain bike which is being towed at speed, no fun at all, especially if you are used to an SV!

I would go for a smaller IL4, which can be got very cheaply, look for FZR400's or zxr's, avoid gixxers as parts are like rocking horse poo.

BTW anyone want a GSXR400 road legal track bike for £400
