I fitted some to my kwak z750 and although they were a snugger fit certainly no mallets were invloved.
Depending on what you mean by very hard but i dont think the insides of the hot grip are going to love being hit hard. Stupid question but the insert they give you in the box isn't still inside the grip is it (sorry cant remeber if this is for the throttle or left side) Also not sure that you want to take any material off the bar, or take any to much off the inside of the grip, you might expose the wiring. Have you checked to see if the grip looks like it has some sort of manufacturing fault? |

They should be flush against the switchgear on you bars/clip-ons.
Don't worry too much about hamering the grip. Personally, I doubt it'd help much to get them on, but it shouldn't damage the wiring inside the grips. I just used glue & a lot of elbow grease. Minus the glue to remove them again. |

Are hot grips better or would you just use heated gloves i am going to be doing one of the above for next winter.

We also found this a bast**d of a job, did you use the glue that was supplied? I hope not else you are in trouble now! Anyway, pure brut force was reqiured in the end ..... hope to never do it again! (But they are great when working!) |
