Default Clutch on it's way out?

I started to notice last week that when hammering it away from stationary and up through the gears (say on a dual carriage way) between 7k & redline the revs rise faster than normal, but only in 3rd. The quick rise in revs does not match acceleration.

I can't get it to do it in any other gear, which puzzles me. A mate of mine has had a go, he reckons it's due the SV is partially restricted (electronically) around this area of the revs in 2nd/3rd to meet noise regs. (Which I have also read about)

The bike's done 25,000 miles, a year of it's life was spent as a commuter bike in London. Does this sound about time to change the clutch? Seems like it should last longer to me:

Cheers,

Do a search on here for clutch adjustment and read Sid Squid's posts on that.
A slipping clutch normally shows up first when you try to do top gear roll ons with the engine in the mid range. How long one lasts is hugely variable depending on how you treat it.
