Default Police speeding figures

Kind of lighting the (blue) paper and standing well back

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstor...name_page.html

90,000 caught speeding (of which one quarter had flashy lights on, fair enough), but 354 gained points/fine.

Not going to stomp my little feet, just interesting is all

Just goes to show that speed cameras are not revenue generating items for the govenment! After all, 90 000 tickets at £60 each is 5.4 million quid. That must be at least one govenment white paper or public enquiry into something or other paid for!

Oh, sarcasm, ain't it wunnerfull...

Did you hear Radio Two (showing my age) "discussing" this? Seems the presenter had some issues he needed to have dealt with by a member of the professional listening squad! Iv'e not heard a more one sided argument since Hitlers Nuremberg speech!

Nah, heard it on Radio 4 From what I understand, the rules are:
20s - Radio 1
30s - Radio 4
40s - Radio 2
50s - Classic FM

And yay for bringing Nazi's into the topic so early! Strike one up for Godwin's law

"The figures were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act."

Oh, thats OK then, they'll just restrict the 'Freedom of Information Act' a tad more the same as they did for the MPs

I think its kinda funny - of course one cannot condone such double standards but I also couldn't care less. Its a perk of the job, so what, wish I had blue lights

Seems a little odd that one Police car will actually stop another with blue lights going? Or have I misread it? If you have your b's & t's going and its a genuine emergency the you'd be pretty peed if some numpty tried to stop you! Nah must have read it wrong.
