i am wanting to get a faster bike in about a year or when i find a deal what would be recommend as a good bike that has got a ridiculous amount of power and handles in the turns good (no to the busa)

One of the possibles on my wish list fits your criteria pretty neatly. ZX636. Slightly more focused sports bike than the SV, and IIRC, 112bhp, so not a massive jump in power.

I'm also looking at things like the GSXR-750 or an R6. I'd love an R1, but I'd probably hate commuting in the winter on it.

Not a massive jump in power...? It's still almost double though! Not that I think many people would have a problem with the jump but it's still a fair jump!

i have in my head a gsxr 1000 but that may change to another 1000 or 1000 v twin
