Default rattling on pull off

evening all,

when i pull away from stationary i'm getting a rattle from the bike...it seems to be coming from chain or gearbox area. my chain is getting replaced soon (with sprockets....what are the front and rear sprockets sizes for a 99 svs?) so i am hoping it is the sound of on old chain rather than the gearbox about to give out...chain is correctly tightened too btw.
....anyone had this before?

Does the noise tally with you releasing the clutch? It could be that there is wear in the clutch release mechanism or clutch basket,as that sort of noise from the chain implies that it is riding over the sprocket, and that will end in tears very soon.

it happens as i release the clutch when i pull away but not when i am using the clutch when moving.

worn chain and sprocks can make these noises, try a good cote of chain lube and see if it quiet's it down a little if so you know its the chain.

Yeah- I was getting that just before I changed my chain/sprockets- I had tight/loose points on the chain. If it doesn't disappear when you replace your chain etc then it's well worth getting it looked at. As Kwak says, lube up aplenty and take it easy on acceleration and gear changes in the meantime.
