Did a 60 mile run first thing in the morning to do a silversmithing course thinking "I love riding my bike"
![]() ![]() Did the course which was excelent ![]() ![]() Got on bike in the evening to ride home, squared the bike up to ride off adn put my right foot down onto ......... nothing ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Luckly (?) it fell on the RHS so while the crash bung caught most of the impact and a tiny part of the exhaust got scratched the brake leaver snapped off So instead of an equally good ride home and the same thing the next day I was forced to back right off as I only had the rear brake and engine to slow me down and drive the car the next day I'd been looking forward to this week end with the 4 rides and the course for weeks now I'm not a happy bunny ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Sorry to hear about the off, but glad it was at slow (no) speed with minimal damage. Dropped mine in my own garage before (with me on it) so you're not the only one.
A brake lever should be pretty easy to get hold of if you pass any bike shops in the car. Hope you get it fixed soon and get back to enjoying your SV. |

I fell off the yellow one at ONE mph when I first got it after spending a load on it getting it back on the road-after sitting in my blokes garage for months.
One mph on an unadopted road, saw big pothole with pond in and opted to go over the gravel next to it instead, lost balance and ended up with foot in said deep pothole. Suzy had a full tank of petrol and little me had to go and get my mates neighbour to help me lift her. Very blonde, very embarrassing. Suzy stil bears some very nasty scars on the fairing and i've never visited my mate there on a bike after that.

Lol, I can understand if it was just coming to a stop and it was assumed there'd be ground there...but pulling away? You'd have had to have got off the bike already, surely would notice then?!

![]() ![]() The bike was parked on the pavement across a drop curb, so the ground on the Right was lower than that on the Left. |

So really was just a case of not noticing when you got off? Doh! Good luck with the lack of real damage, hope you fix it quickly!
