The BSB teams are going to be doing shows and riding round the square. 5:30 to 9:00 pm...
hopefully it'll be good... It could be a one off can't see people being happy if its on every year... George Sq closed off for a bunch of bloody bikers, bloody rediculous middle of the bloody rush hour as well...

Here you go......
....taken, believe it or not from - The BSB Website of all places.... ![]() SUPERBIKE RACERS SPEED INTO GLASGOW Ryuichi Kiyonari, the current leader and title holder in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, is the latest rider to confirm that he will be taking part in the inaugural ‘Superbikes in the Square’ event in Glasgow this Wednesday evening. The HM Plant Honda rider will be joined by his team-mate Jonathan Rea, currently third in the title chase following his maiden race victory last time out at Mondello Park, a result that he will be keen to repeat in the forthcoming Scottish seventh round of the championship at Knockhill on Sunday. They are among a whole host of stars who will be bringing the speed and excitement of Superbike racing into the heart of Scotland’s biggest city as they turn on the style in demonstration laps around a specially prepared course in George Square. All of the top riders and teams participating in Britain’s premier motor sport series will be in action, among them former champions Shane Byrne aboard the Stobart Vent Axia Motorsport Honda, and Gregorio Lavilla, riding the Airwaves Ducati which has taken him already to five victories this season, leaving him a single point down on Kiyonari in the title stakes. Chris Walker and Cal Crutchlow will be riding their Rizla Suzukis; Michael Rutter and highly talented young Scot Stuart Easton ride the Isilon MSS Kawasaki; Karl Harris brings his Hydrex Honda, while Tommy Hill demonstrates his Virgin Media Optoma Loans Yamaha; Tom Sykes rides Stobart Honda and Dean Thomas shows off his Samsung Suzuki. Scottish ‘young-guns’ Robbie Stewart and Kev Coghlan, fresh from their appearances at the British Motorcycle Grand Prix, will be riding, while in a specially themed Ducati event Leon Haslam, John Laverty and Sean Emmett will take to the course, joined by one of the Italian marque’s MotoGP bikes. Highly popular Scot Niall Mackenzie, three times the title winner of the British title, will be making a ‘racing’ return, as will another former title winner John Reynolds in the event that not only promotes the sport, the forthcoming Knockhill round but also the key messages of road and bike safety. The promise is for a show-stopping spectacular as Superbike racing goes on a meet the fans special, providing plenty of opportunity for all of the spectators to get close up to the action as well as taking part in interview and autograph sessions. And, the principal support race series to the Superbikes, the Maxxis British Supersport Championship will also be represented at the event, with the leading duo in the title stakes, Relentless Suzuki by TAS team-mates Michael Laverty and Ian Lowry, riding in the square and taking part in the full range of activities. Admission to the event is FREE of charge, with the fast-moving programme running between 5.30p.m. and 9.00p.m. |

Come on over then.... we'll be at Knockhill during the day and then head over for the show. It's not THAT far and you get to ride the bike over. Surely that's another good reason to attend. I'm beginning to think we should all take those loose baffles out for the cause.......
