Default AE 7.5 (or 7 1/2)

New thread following on from other simular titled...

Weekend of 4/5th August

WE ARE STAYING HERE:
http://www.lakeside-holidays.net/

and going for a run up to the Elan valley

The location of the campsite is at Llangors lake in the Brecon Beacons national park, this is approx a few miles up the road from Abergavenny and Crickhowell along the A40

all those interested please post:

so far,
Me
Vix
Xan
Beenz
+ lots of others, see Xan's posts for atendees so far..

and any other takers...

planned route A)
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&hl...5,2.554321&z=9

Route B) i.e. if its ****ing down, TBA

Exact meeting point TBA, at moment looking at Abergavenny Bus Station, but may move it up towards lay by near Crickhowell oposite old Army camp aka.. Cwrt-Y-Gollen that brings it closer to those who are camping to where we are staying, only a few miles, but it means we arent required to trample over the same road a few times the same day!
its along the A40 from Abergavenny, so you cant really miss it...

NO MORE ADDITIONAL CAMPING

The site is now near full, so please no more phoning the campsite.. if you arent booked in, then sorry, you are too late.

Added:

Right, to make things easier, heres the story...
The ride will be happening on Saturday the 4th August, start time will be posted up and placed here after confirmation with the others..

Start place will be the lay-by near Cwrt-Y-Gollen Army camp, just outside the Village of Cwrt-Y-Gollen heading westwards along the A40.. this is before you get to Crickhowell on the A40 heading westwards...

There will be an aerial photo of the lay by itself and updated route information posted shortly...

Can those planning on starting from here please make sure your fuel is full before getting here, as the plan is to go straight from here... those camping can fill up on the way to here, and those joining us from the east have a plethora of fuel stations to choose from around Abergavenny..

more to follow..

Sounds good.

However can we stop it with all the AR/Ae7.5 etc posts?

Why not call it the Welsh Invitational, or Invasion of the Valleys?

There is ONE AR a year, but what cam out from the one that just happened is that there is a need and desire for more meet-ups.

So each regional group, feel free to arrange an event, and open it to outsiders.

Just dont call it AR[xyz]

I'll need to sort out one or two things, but for now, count me in. I'll let you know soon for definate either way.

Also, if needed, I'll happily run as a marker (or tail end).

EDIT: VB, you missed the dates off your post...

I just got this back from the site who only have one normal pitch left.

"Ok we have the overflow field which we don’t take bookings on its let out on a first come first served basis if you can find out exactly the number of people coming and how many tent pitches you would require I can have a word with Karen and maybe she will section off some of the field for you.
Although I cant guarantee it.
Many thanks
chris"

So, please sign up!!!!!!

Mods:
feel free to change name if wanted...
suppose if we can get this going every year, then theres no harm in calling it AR**.5 though!

I might not be able to make it down for the Friday night, but should be able to make it there early-ish on Saturday.

I'll keep you posted.

Would like to come, but would only be for a day out..... Cannot make the 4th (first day of the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol) but if there is a ride planned for Sunday 5th will try to make that.

3hour 30 blast down the A470... I can be there by around 10am quite easily.

Game on for the day out at least. Consider me a definate for the day, anything more is a bonus really.
