Default Conti Road Attack

Just fitted an Attack to the front of my bike.

http://www.conti-tyres.co.uk/contibi...oad-attack.php

It was 2nd hand, but I can still see the Attack 'branding' on the tread, so its not like it is overly worn.

Anyway, is it me or have they an extremely flat profile in the middle?!?! Its almost like the middle bit is squared off ...

I got road attacks on mine, damn fine tyres imho

As for the profile, i don't think they're naturally squared off, will check after work

Nope mine where round to start with, this is the second set now. Having just swapped the rear after 8900 miles, would have got more but I think they would have been well bald after the AR. Plus the plug in the tyre would have worried me.

Have never had those tyres, but have noticed what you said when looking at other bikes. Is it a trick of the tread pettern fooling the eye?

No it 'feels' flat (profile) too ... (hence why I first had a good look)

I've got SportAttacks in the garage on a 180 for the GSXR so profile may differ slightly but the profile is shallow which is nice on the road when going fairly gently as it rolls gradually, not so nice on full lean. Does the tyre roll smoothly or can you feel the shoulder/step from where it looks square? It does look a bit square in the photo (not very clear though) but check the tread depth in the middle against depth nearer the sides. If it feels OK I wouldn't worry unless there is a pronounced step/ridge.

even new ones look a little flat,
