What bike and which cylinder, as I imagine it will be very variable due to labour charges, other than that, I don't have a clue lol

Well, I was well paranoid about every rattle, convinced my engine was about to completely lunch itself, but then I went to see dizzyblonde, and hers are both just the same, so make sure that it is actually abnormal.

The front tensioner is a right bugger to get to without the suzuki holding tool dooberry, but for a straight swapping out of the tensioner I would guess less than 2 hours.

Its not a hard job if you're going to do it yourself, so long as you can borrow or make a holding tool.

Its simple to make your own holding tool- I used the idea from the FAQ section of the main site. Just an old picture hanging bracket thingy, filed down to the correct shape- took two mins to make, and did the job perfectly.

You want an itemised bill for that, tensioners are about £35 if memory serves and a trained monkey could fit either in under an hour including a flea break. But, to be fair, there may have been more to it, it's easy to jump to assumptions. Not all rattles are cam chain tensioners, and not all are harmless, and not all just need a new tensioner...
