Default Removing "NOT FOR ROAD USE" Stamp.

Basically as the title says, my exhaust has it stamped on the end and i want it removed. I was thinking...
  • Polished out at a metal workshop.
  • Having a new end piece put on with no stamp.
But i don't know where to go to get this sort of stuff done, little bit of noise in the daytime never hurt anyone, and it makes people around more aware i am there, pointless stamp to begin with!

Plod wil usually give you a rectifier or a ticking off for a race can. However they take a dim view of people putting legal stickers on clearly race cans, and it could cost you points or more grief in the the long run.

I've been running with Race cans around london for 3 years and although I've been pulled/checked over a couple of times, they've let it go.

of course if I have a letterbox numberplate and acted like a tosser, then they might taken a dimmer view.

So because you think its pointless you are willing to commit fraud.......

If you want to ride with a race can, then you have to run with the risk of being pulled.

I run a "legal" can - although I understand that the fact the baffle is held in with an allen bolt (as it came) makes it illegal anyway.

I am just waiting for it to cool down after a run today to take the baffle back out.

I choose to run a loud can, I choose to take the risk of being pulled.

End of

Take some responsibility for your actions and dont try and hide behind an angle grinder/dremel.

Police are not my concern, it's my insurance, as far as i know you can't declare a race can to road insurance?

Not for road use exhaust - £400

Fake BS Mark plate - £5.99

Perverting the course of justice - Up to 25 years

But seriously, just buy a legal can FFS, they're dirt cheap compared to the price of the bike, and if you're even more skint you can buy 2nd hand. If you want to run a loud pipe (or while we're on it, a non-legal visor or plate) then you will always run the risk of being pulled for it. i ride with a black visor because it keeps the sun out of my eyes, and if we're going to be honest, looks awesome. when i get my new scorpion the baffle will be coming out because having ridden a bike with a baffleless can it gets people's attention and gets you noticed. if they want to pull me for it then so be it, it won't stop me doing so...
