Trousers leaked for the first time today, nothing too bad just a bit damp around the thighs. So what you all got and what works best?

Hmmm, all bike trousers leak after a while. I had 2 pairs of Richa moonsooons. 1st pair leaked, the second pair started to leak but the zips went on them. A shame as the fitted really well, and where very comfortable and warm. I now have a pair of buffalo. Not worn them much, but the time i did, they didnt leak.
Just look for a quality brand. If you can affrod them Rukka. |

If they are in good nick wash them with Nikwax and spray them with silicone proofing spray. That should get another year's life out of them.

TBH they're pnly s cheap pair that I got at one of the shows and as I'm using the bike everyday now I think it's probably best to invest in a good quality pair.
Any particular 'models' of Rukka? |

I have some IXS trousers, reasonably priced at about £80, they have a removable thermal lining and have done a grand job for the past couple of years ridden in to work and back most days and in all conditions. They have never let me down. Alternatively if you know it is going to be wet, just buy warm gear and get some proper waterproofs?

![]() However, i do believe that thier stuff comes with a 5 year warranty?? If so, then, i bought 3 pairs in 3 year, totaling about £300. Maybe my next pair will be rukka. |

I have a pair of Buffulo trousers. There about 3 years old now and have never leaked, or allowed water through them (I've never re-proofed these either in that time), unlike other pairs of trousers that i have seen. So I'd say Buffalo trouser are a good bet, especialy as mine were only about £80 when I got them.
I also have a 1-piece waterproof suit- which kept ne nice and dry in the flood-inducing, monsoon-esque downpours last week. hth |

Had a look in the Hein Gericke catalogue last night and some of their Goretex trousers have a 5 year warranty so I may go and try some of them on....start at a bargain price of about £150
![]() Will look into Buffalo trousers too, thanks for the advice so far. |
